So if you’re wondering, “What in the world is Brittany doing at her school in Kansas City? What’s it all about?” this is the post for you! Haha a couple weeks ago, Pablo Perez, the director of the Forerunner Music Academy, shared the vision statement of the school and I really wanted to share it with everyone. I’m just gonna put a couple different quotes from his notes about it. The whole time he was sharing I was kinda in awe of the Lord’s perfect leadership. It just got cemented in me more that this is exactly where I need to be right now both for my heart and for preparation for the plans the Lord has for Him and I to do together down the road
“FMA Vision Statement: to raise a company of prophetic singers, musicians and worship leaders (singing theologians) who love the Lord with all of their hearts, minister with authority in the Spirit and fuel the praying church (day and night) with intercessory and prophetic worship.”
Yeaaaaah…pretty awesome huh? Before he even got into the notes too though, he really stressed how much the desire of his heart as a leader is to see us really step into loving God with all of our hearts as the primary dream and obsession of our lives. Before anything else that we do as singers and musicians and all that, all of the leaders really just want us to have that foundation of love for God and for others embedded deep inside of us. That we know before we are a preacher, or singer, or musician, or anything else, we are loved by God and love Him and our success comes from that place.
“The Forerunner Music Academy labors to produce singing theologians who are lovesick for Jesus adn minister with authority in the Spirit – a company of prophetic singers, musicians and worship leaders that will puel the praying church (day and night) with intercessory and prophetic worship.”
So that’s kinda what he said in the first quote I put up there too but I just love LOVE how “lovesick for Jesus” is part of their vision statement! Oh my soul!
He kinda unpacked the part about being lovesick for Jesus here:
“Not only “Singing Theologians” but Singing Theologians who will love Jesus as the Father loves Jesus. A group of musicians and singers that think of loving God with all of their heats, soul, mind, and strength as the ultimate dream of their hearts.”
“At FMA, we will show you the difference between your ‘assignment’ and your ‘ultimate dream.’ Part of your assignment is to minister before the Lord, proclaim His word and release His presence through worship. But if ministry becomes your ‘life dream’ you are scheduled for serious disappointment and burnout. Because ministry – along with honor and rejection men will offer for your accomplishments – is unable to sustain your soul, and will never satisfy the thirst of your heart. Only the manifest presence of Jesus…only loving God with all of your heart can do that.”
So incredibly grateful to be able to be at a place where that will continue to get cemented into my spirit.
Then he kinda fleshed out the “ministering in the authority in the Spirit” part:
“Years ago the Lord told me He is releasing the Key of David to this generation. I believe the Key of David is the authority and power to open the heavens through worship – the ability to access the spiritual realm and command heavens to open up (to pour down righteousness), and command the earth to open (so salvation and righteousness can grow together) [Is. 45:8]“
“We use this key (in prophetic worship and intercession) to drive away darkness, destroy spiritual strongholds and create and ‘open heaven’ over the place.”
All I’m sayin’ is…thank You Jesus for Your leadership! Have Your way in every way and give me grace upon grace for all You wanna do here!
